Sounds of the Galactic League – Hibi

In the next installment of the Sounds of the Galactic League series, it’s time to meet Lucy Montgomery, the voice behind Shade’s expert mechanic Hibi.

Every great hero needs a loyal friend cheering in their corner!

Hibi is Shade’s expert mechanic and ardent supporter. This energetic Ardennian spends her time tinkering with vehicles, leveraging her expert knowledge to help Shade get ahead on the track, and occasionally offering some words of warning for her more experimental upgrades. Her voice needed to be loud, lively, and lighthearted to match her personality.

“Hibi was initially a real challenge to find a voice for,” says Fuse Games’ Music & Narrative Director Nathaniel Daw, “as Shade’s main companion and ally they needed to be a friendly, welcoming personality, but still capturing the enthusiasm and passion for repulsorcraft that makes Hibi so special. Hibi’s voice actor Lucy Montgomery was the one who first suggested a voice based on the Liverpool (or Scouse) accent and the moment we heard that we knew we’d found our Hibi. Lucy brings so much energy and joy to the character, and as a result Hibi is a hilarious delight in every scene.”

Lucy Montgomery is an English actor, comedian, and writer who has worked in film, television, and gaming for over two decades.
